Research Projects
PeriCoag – Perioperative Anticoagulation
PeriCoag was a Hessian Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs and Health funded scientific project about a Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS) to guide evidence-based perioperative anticoagulation. In a prospective randomised clinical management simulation multicentre study it was demonstrated that the CDSS significantly improved the identification of evidence-based treatment approaches.
KIPeriOP – AI-based Perioperative Patient Management
KIPeriOP was a research project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) with the aim of improving perioperative risk management and reducing perioperative mortality and harm to patients. An AI-based Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS) was developed to visualize individual patient risks in the perioperative setting and improve guideline-adherence of the preperative management of surgery patients.
TelePeriOP – Telemedical Perioperative Patient Management
TelePeriOP is the follow-up project to KIPertiOP, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Health (BMG). The aim of TelePeriOP is to develop and evaluate a hybrid, digital-virtual patient-doctor interaction before elective surgery. Patient data is collected from home via a patient app without the need for a physical visit to the hospital. This is supplemented by a telemedical conversation with the anaesthetist, in which the patient is informed about the anaesthetic and the operation.
